This is a simple half-up hairstyle that I do all the time! It’s great for getting my hair up and out of my face. It’s also great for second-day hair: when you’re hair isn’t the cleanest, but it’s not a greaseball either. In addition, I love using this hairstyle for photos because it’s a great way to wear your hair down while still being able to see your pretty face!
Step 1: Take a 2-inch piece of hair from right in front of your ear. Twist it back to halfway around the crown of your head. I like to pick up pieces as I go because I have layered hair and it makes the twist thicker. Pin with a bobby pin.
Step 2: Do the same thing on the other side. Pin the hair right next to the other piece. If you do it on top of or over, the two pieces won’t align and it’ll look wonky.
Step 3: Tousle. I gently tug at the twists to fluff them up. I also pull down pieces around my face to make it look less done up. Then, I will gently tug a little at the hair at the crown of my head for extra volume. Hairspray into place. I usually aim most of the hairspray at the bobby pins!
Voila! That’s it! It’s literally as easy as 1, 2, 3!! This is a basic hairstyle that I think everyone should have in their arsenal!
