There are a lot of questions you should be asking yourself. This is more about staying in-tune with yourself than it is to be sure you can check everything down the line. Within these three primary questions are more opportunities to reflect. You can do these either in the morning or the evening or both. Here are 3 questions you should be asking yourself daily.
What is my goal for today?
What is important for you to achieve today? What are your top five items that you must do? Do you have any other tasks you’d like to do after that? Do these items make you feel overwhelmed? Write down how much time you think each of your five tasks are going to take. Did that help take away some of the stress? Do you have any major events you have to accomplish today? These are all great questions to get the ball rolling. I tend to record these answers in my bullet journal, but you can write these down anywhere. I think the best method is to write it down, but if you just need to sit silently and reflect, that’s okay, too.
What am I feeling?
Do your muscles feel tense or sore? How is your heart rate? Are you feeling sluggish or energized? What are your primary emotions? Contentment? Joy? Anger? Fear? Sadness? Loneliness? Anxiety? Serenity? Stress? Why are the emotions present? What is going on your life to cause these emotions to rise up? Becoming aware of where you are at mentally and physically is essential for staying present in your day-to-day life. It’s easy to go on autopilot and forget about the rest, but we are able to be more in control and feel happier daily if we allow ourselves to be aware of everything we’re feeling, whether they’re wonderful or ugly.
What am I thankful for?
We always have something to be grateful for. The fact that you woke up to live another day and are able to read this are two amazing things to be grateful for. Who in your life are you grateful? Even if there are challenges in your life, what is going right? What things have you accomplished recently that left a positive impact on your life? I like to make a gratitude list at the end of the day to combat any negative feelings I may have about people or experiences. Gratitude is the best attitude. Spend some time being thankful today.
