25 Birthday Quirks

Hey guys! It’s Josh (Sofia’s Husband) writing this post today! For my beautiful wife’s 25^th birthday, I wanted to do a guest post about 25 things and quirks that you probably didn’t know about her! There’s way more than just 25 things that I want to share with you, but I’ll restrain myself….for now!

1. Her eyes are normally green (exhibit A and exhibit B), but change color when she’s stressed out/experiencing different emotions: Blue means she’s stressed (exhibit A and exhibit B) They’ll turn violet when she’s stressed to the max or generally super upset. I’ve only seen it happen once a few years ago. Afterwards, they were ice blue for several days.
2. She hates singing in front of anyone, but I caught her once and she’s really good! I’ve never heard her sing again… 🙁
3. She’s awesome at baking, but she can’t bake a cake! She’s successfully discovered almost all the different ways not to make a cake though 🙂
4. She has a perfect photographic memory! (Which is really inconvenient for me :p )
5. She can handle super spicy foods like they are nothing. And, she can chop onions without crying. Not sure if she’s human.
6. She likes to sing the “Shadow-Berry” song to our dog Shadow with the “Krusty Krab Pizza” Tune from Spongebob in a goofy voice and Shadow loves it!
7. She has a ridiculously strong grip from all of the knitting that she does. I’ve had her bend metal object with her hand and then not be able to bend them back myself.
8. She’s gotten every Harry Potter Hogwarts house on Pottermore except Gryffindor! But, she considers herself a Ravenclaw because that’s the house she’s gotten most often.
9. She likes fruity-sweet more than chocolately-sweet treats. We always have fruit somewhere in the house. But I make sure that we always have chocolate.
10. She hates chocolate ice cream and anything that involves chocolate and peanut butter. She will eat peanut butter straight out of the jar though.
11. She got to hold Kodah on the way back from adopting her in Phoenix AND named her. She tells everyone that Kodah’s annoying and that she’s my dog, but really, Kodah is her baby more than mine.
12. She reads slowly when she likes a book, but fast when she hates it!
13. She hates the taste of eggs and meat, but she’s really good at making dishes with them.
14. She taught herself how to code for WordPress in a week! She also is an active learner, meaning that whenever she has spare time, you can usually find her learning French (or some other 7 languages) or learning about something science-y, like genomic medicine.
15. She pulls 14+ hr workdays 7 days a week for The Cozie! There’s a lot going on behind the scenes that you all don’t see. It’s not unusual for me to come from a crazy 14 hour workday myself and for her to still be working (after getting up before me).
16. She forgets English sometimes because her Italian is so good and will be like “What’s the word for colosseo?”In which case, I’ll usually say something like, “…um, you mean colosseum?” “OH YEAH! THANKS!”
17. She basically only eats Trader Joe’s items.  Die hard fan!
18. She has a problem with Snapple Diet Peach Tea…like I’ve seen her go through a six-pack of that stuff faster than a middle-aged dad drinking Guinness during the Superbowl!
19. She likes sports more than I do! Her favorite is football. As soon as it hits August, she gets excited for the new season!
20. Most of her skin + hair treatments are all natural using kitchen items like honey, avocados and olive oil.
21. She had read the dictionary. Start. To. Finish. (She knows all the words!)
22. She’s more afraid of moths than spiders…. (insert knitting jokes here)
23. She used to write 50-100 page novels when she was a tween.
24. She’s been driving for almost 10 years and has a perfect driving record. She’s never gotten a ticket (not even parking) or crashed a car and better not ever because I need her.
25. She’s the best wife, best friend, mother and all-around badass in the world and I love her more than anything!
