I love green smoothies because they’re a great way to start the day! This time of year is typically when people get into a health kick, so I thought I’d share this recipe with you all since I use it so much. Usually, I begin my days with this simple and easy smoothie and some green tea. You’re welcome to customize your smoothie however you’d like, but I’ll tell you what I do! Many people steer clear of green smoothies because they think it will taste like drinking veggies. Trust me, it doesn’t! This smoothie is very sweet because of the banana and pineapple. You wouldn’t even guess there’s anything green in it just by the taste!
- 2 handfuls of kale (or spinach)
- 1 banana
- 1/2 c. pineapple
- 1/2 c. mango
- 1 c. almond milk
Blend it all together and voila! I prefer to use fresh ingredients when their in season, but frozen works just as well! Other items you can add in are a 1/2 c. of yogurt or 1/2 an avocado to make it creamier. Recently, I’ve been loving my smoothies to be more fluid than creamy.
If you want to turn this into a smoothie bowl, try adding 1/2 c. yogurt and 1/2 an avocado with only a 1/2 c. almond milk (or milk of your preference). This will thicken it up nicely! I hope you all have a great day!
