We’re excited to announce that Baby Foret will be joining us in March 2018!
it’s a boy!
This is all so surreal for us. We found out super early; I’m not sure if I was even 4 weeks when I got a positive test.
I actually ended up taking a pregnancy test on a whim and it came back positive! I was so excited!
We debated for a good two and a half months whether or not we’d be having a boy or a girl. I thought it was going to be a girl because a) old wives tales (they’re fun, but definitely not true) and b) Josh has waltz around for the last several years swearing his family only has boys. I kept telling him that God has a sense of humor and that if he keeps that up, he’s only going to get girls 🙂
Long-story-short, it’s a boy! We’re truly excited to meet him! I’m a little glad that we’re having a boy first because, in my experience, they’re a bit easier to manage, especially when trying to get into a parenting routine. We got to find out super early with the gender, too, because I took a genetic blood test.
All good news! He’s a little trooper. At our first appointment, he was healthy and his heart sounded great! It was such a relief because I’ve heard so many horror stories of things going wrong, so I was worried until that ultrasound. We have another ultrasound coming up in a couple weeks to check up on him! Since my skin is still a wreck and my nausea is still through the roof, I think it’s safe to assume he’s doing just fine 🙂
We already have a name picked out for him, but we’re not sharing it until after he’s born. 🙂
how dad is doing
Josh is so excited to be a father! Every day, he has a jumbo smile on his face. As soon as he gets home, he’s walking around with the ultrasound pictures so proud 🙂 It’s really precious. He also was able to film the ultrasound screen during our first appointment, so he was able to capture our first experience meeting our little guy!
Ohh, and Josh is making some of his toys! I’m not sure how many of you know, but Josh is actually quite talented at woodworking. So far, he’s working on a little block whale. (I’ll have to show you all once it’s finished!) He’s going to go down the list of animals and making them one-by-one. I’m excited to see his other creations because the whale is so cute!
my experience + symptoms
I’ve been battling severe morning sickness. I can’t remember what it’s like not to be sick. I’ve been living off of smoothies and red Gatorade for the past several weeks. I have definitely had weird cravings (mashed potatoes and Cheetos, anyone? Ha, ew), but those are rare. This week, I’m starting to feel a little better. I’m trying to get more protein in, but it’s still a challenge.
My skin has also been an absolute mess. I don’t think I’ve had break outs this bad since high school! I feel like there’s a new pop up every day and I’m still not used to it. On the bright side, my nails are ridiculously strong right now, so no complaints there!
The last little symptom that I’ve been experiencing as of late is joint pain, especially in my hips and back. I definitely thought that wouldn’t happen until later on, but it’s here now, so I’m just rolling with it. Josh has been an amazing husband and been giving me loads of foot massages (it’s total heaven)
Anyway, since this is my first pregnancy and everything is so new, I’m just taking it day-by-day. I’m already starting to show a bit more than I was expecting so I figured it was time to share the news! If anyone has any tips, please comment below because I’d love to hear them! I’ll also be doing little updates on here from time to time, but I won’t be turning the site into baby wonderland, so no worries if you’re not into these kinds of posts! See you all around 🙂
